First, a quick product review... Jolly Time Healthy Pop Kettle Corn (100 cals per mini bag):
I'm wishy washy about popcorn. Sometimes I think I'm craving it, but as soon as I taste it I'm grossed out. Well, about every 6 months, I forget that I don't actually like popcorn and purchase some. I think I finally found one that's a keeper! It popped in about 1.5 minutes, the serving size was just right, and it had just enough sweet-and-salty yumminess to satisfy a craving. It did have a slight aftertaste, probably because it was sweetened with Splenda. Oh well.

Doc Appt: Predictably, he pushed the statin drugs. I told him my plan, and I think he truly can't comprehend why I don't want to go on medicines NOW. Whatever. It's my body, right? I have a call in to the nutritionist, and I also need to find a dr. (preferably one who has some eastern influence) for a second opinion.

I did pretty well on exercise this week 2x strength training (one I did cardio for 15 mins after, too) and I really pushed myself and even used 7.5 lb weights for some exercises. I FEEL slightly stronger but alas the scale hasn't budged. I also did cardio 3 days this week for an hour at a stretch. One of those days only sort of counts because the instructor totally sucked. As for calorie intake, today is my last day of the week. For the other 6 days, 2 were in the 1200s, 2 in the 1300s, 1 in the 1400s, and 1 in the 1600s 9ouch!). That was yesterday and I was ravenous all day. I also had a PB&J sandwich for lunch which was a bad idea, b/c it wasn't filling at all.

I am going to make an effort to pack lunches (duh) but to also stick to a set of ingredients for that week, so that the fridge isn't all cluttered and food doesn't go bad. This week is going to be hummus on pita and veggies with balsamic for lunch. I have tons of snacks, so I can mix those up. Other foods to do this with this month include turkey breast (real from now on, no deli meat) and tofu.

On the dessert front: I purchased some frozen fruits in the hopes that I will be able to make smoothies instead of ice cream. I haven't touched the ice cream in a few days, and it becomes SO easy to stay away from it once it's been a few days. If I go back to it, I know I will fall back into the evil ice cream trap. So the plan is to let J finish what we have and then buy flavors HE likes. I also will allow myself the smart ones desserts or skinny cow sammies, since those both have built in portion control. Also, I am going to make key lime frozen yogurt/gelato... going to research that next.
